ARE YOU WASHED?

1 Cor 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

ESV 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

NIV 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

HCSB 11 Some of you were like this; but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

In the modern versions, you WERE washed, sanctified, and justified. Perhaps you no longer ARE. Apparently you can lose your salvation in the modern versions.

The song asks, "ARE you washed, in the blood? In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?" The modern version answer is, "NO, I WAS washed, but apparently not anymore."

MODERN VERSIONS REWARD RAPE

And 5 out of 6 Modern Bible versions reward it. Modern versions reward rapists by giving the rapist the damsel. These modern perversions give enemies of God great cause to blaspheme. See Deut 22:28-29 (the first NLT is from http://www.evilbible.com/Rape.htm, the other is from http://www.biblegateway.com):

NLT: 28 If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. 29 Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her,

HCSB: 28 If a man encounters a young woman, a virgin who is not engaged, takes hold of her and rapes her, and they are discovered, 29 the man who raped her must give the young woman's father 50 silver [shekels], and she must become his wife because he violated her.

NIV: 28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her.

TNIV: 28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. 

NASB: 28 If a man finds a girl who is a virgin, who is not engaged, and seizes her and lies with her and they are discovered, 29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the girl's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall become his wife because he has violated her;

MSG: 28-29 When a man comes upon a virgin who has never been engaged and grabs and rapes her and they are found out, the man who raped her has to give her father fifty pieces of silver. He has to marry her because he took advantage of her.

AMP: 28 If a man finds a girl who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her and they are found, 29 Then the man who lay with her shall give to the girl's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her;

ESV: 28 If a man meets a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found, 29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her.

NCV: 28 If a man meets a virgin who is not engaged to be married and forces her to have sexual relations with him and people find out about it, 29 the man must pay the girl's father about one and one-fourth pounds of silver. He must also marry the girl, because he has dishonored her,

NLT: 28 Suppose a man has intercourse with a young woman who is a virgin but is not engaged to be married. If they are discovered, 29 he must pay her father fifty pieces of silver. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her,  

The modern versions have given men just cause to rape whom we desire, and be rewarded for it with the damsel. But look at the KJB: 

Deut 22:28-29 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her,  

Nothing necessarily about rape or violation in here. Maybe "date rape", where she was willing. Being humbled is not the same thing as being violated. Rape was already covered just a few verses earlier in the same chapter: 

Deut 22:25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die: 

See the word "force" instead of "find" and "lay hold"? Surprisingly, the CEV actually has the right idea: 

28 Suppose a woman isn't engaged to be married, and a man talks her into sleeping with him. If they are caught, 29 they will be forced to get married. He must give her father fifty pieces of silver as a bride-price ... 

Of course there are no important differences in the modern versions, right?

XEROX GREATER THAN GOD

According to the position of modern versionists: 

A Xerox machine has abilities that seem to have escaped God in the eyes of modern Christianity.

A Xerox machine can make exact copies of its source material.

God was not able to make exact copies of His source material.

A Xerox machine can make exact copies of the copies.

God was not able to make exact copies of the copies.

A Xerox machine pays careful attention to every word and preserves each word.

God has let many words escape his copies.

A Xerox machine can make its source CLEARER by making it darker, lighter, smaller, larger, etc.,

God's copies always tend to be corrupted and in a state of confusion.

So it seems that the Xerox machine is much more powerful in the eyes of the modern version bunch than God is. Perhaps Xerox should be magnified above all?

MODERN VERSION ANIMAL CRACKERS

When you break it down, it's absurd. The modern versions don't know a mouse from a rat, whether a chameleon is a crocodile or a tortoise is a crocodile, or whether a tortoise is a great lizard, or whether a mole is a chameleon, whether a snail is a lizard, or what in the world a sand lizard, winding lizard, and wall lizard are, much less a stellio. Abbott and Costello don't have any funnier comedy routines than this.

Leviticus 11:29-30

KJB -  weasel, mouse, tortoise, ferret, chameleon, lizard, snail, mole.
NKJV - mole, mouse, large lizard, gecko, monitor lizard, sand reptile, sand lizard, chameleon.
NIV - weasel, rat, great lizard, gecko, monitor lizard, wall lizard, skink, chameleon.
NASB - mole, mouse, great lizard, gecko, crocodile, lizard, sand reptile, chameleon.

Don't ever use a Nkjv proponent as a guide for hunting, a safari, or a nature trail. Anyone that thinks a porcupine is a bird, and a bird is a snake (except when a bird is a monkey), and can't tell the difference between a fox and a jackal, or a jackal and a dragon, is liable to get you sent to jail or killed.

"That's no spotted owl, that's a snake - go ahead, shoot it!"

"That's just a cute bunny rabbit, not a badger - go ahead, pet it!"

WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?

Psalm 63:10 "They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for FOXES."

All 7 times the Hebrew word appears it is translated "foxes" in the KJB. In fact, foxes is the reading of the Jewish translations, the KJB, NASB, RV, ASV, Young's, Darby, Douay, Spanish and Italian bibles.

However the NKJV says JACKALS here while it translates the other 6 instances as "foxes" (the NIV has "foxes" 4 times and "jackals" 3 times).


THEY BOTH HAVE QUILLS.

Isaiah 14:23 "I will also make it a possession for the BITTERN, and pools of water."

A bittern is a type of bird similar to a nocturnal heron. It is not an archaic word. The Hebrew word is found only three times and all three are translated as "bittern" in the KJB. Bittern is also the reading of the 1917, 1936 Jewish translations, Young's, Darby, KJV 21, Third Millenium Bible, and others.

However the NKJV says here "I will make it a possession for the PORCUPINE."

Yet the NKJV translates this same Hebrew word as "bittern" in Zephaniah 2:14. Now, I'm pretty sure there is a difference between a bird and a porcupine. But wait, the NASB says it is a "hedgehog" while the NIV tells us it is a "screech owl".


A WHALE OF AN ERROR.

Matthew 12:40 "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the WHALE'S belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

The word here is ketos and clearly means whale. The scientific appellation for whale is cetos, which has the same derivation. Whale is the reading of the KJB, RV, ASV, RSV, Tyndale, Geneva, Douay, and many others.

However the NKJV again joins the NIV and says "A GREAT FISH", while the NASB lets us know it was really a SEA MONSTER.


WHAT'S IN THAT COCOON??

1 Kings 8:37 "If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be CATERPILLAR..."

The Hebrew word for caterpillar is found five times and all translated as caterpillar in the KJB. Caterpillar is also the reading of the Jewish translations, the RV, ASV, NASB and others.

However the NKJV again joins the NIV and says GRASSHOPPER here, but it translates the same word as caterpillar in Psalms 78:46 and Isaiah 33:4.


MONKEY BUSINESS.

1 Kings 10:22 tells us of Solomon sending a navy of ships to bring gold, silver, ivory, apes and PEACOCKS. Peacocks is the reading of the Jewish translations, RV, ASV, NASB, Young's and others.

The NKJV says MONKEYS, while the NIV tells us these were baboons.


SCORPIONS.

1 Kings 12:11 Rehoboam tells the people: "My father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with SCORPIONS. Scorpions is the reading of the RV, ASV, NASB and even the NIV.

However the NKJV says: "I will chastise you with SCOURGES", even though it correctly has 'scorpions' in Deut. 8:15 and Ezek 2:6.


FEEBLE BADGERS?

Proverbs 30:26 "The CONIES are but a feeble folk, yet make they their  houses in the rocks." A coney is a type of rabbit. Conies is the reading of   the NIV, RV, ASV, Geneva, Young's, 1936 Jewish translation, Douay and others.

However the NKJV says ROCK BADGERS. The 1977 NASB had "badgers" but in 1995 the NASB changed this to "the shepharim" just to clear it up   for us with an "easy, modern" word. Any NKJV advocate had better hope the  next time they wander into the woods they will encounter a rabbit rather than a badger. They will find out in a real hurry which creature is feeble. The University of Wisconsin didn't call themselves the Badgers because badgers are sissies. Who knows what a shepharim is or what you should do if you encounter one?


VAMPIRES?

Prov 30:14 "There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their JAW TEETH as knives." Jaw teeth is in the NASB, ASV, RV and others.

The NIV has "jaws" which is not far off, but the NKJV says "whose FANGS are like knives."

Vampires perhaps? Maybe serpents?

Just a few comparisons in this chapter alone between the KJB and the nkjv will show that the nkjv has changed far more than Thee and Ye.

PRESERVED LIKE A MILLION DOLLARS

Some of you contend that God preserved His word among all the manuscripts that have been found, or are yet to be found.

Well do I have a deal for you! I've decided to offer everyone who believes in that type of preservation of scripture a MILLION DOLLARS!

Just like your "scripture" though, the dollars are scattered all over the place, nobody knows where each dollar is for sure or which ones are part of the million I'm offering. The best you can do is to just start grabbing people and taking their money. Some of their dollars are bound to be the legitimate ones I am offering.

DROPPING THE HAMMER

No matter how often or loudly you claim otherwise, you are NOT submitting yourselves to ANY Bible in existence today. ALL versions are fair game to be changed, added to, or taken from. By definition and nature, you are making man the authority over God's word rather than making God's word the authority over men.

You do NOT believe God PRESERVED His word if you believe it's scattered among innumerable Greek & Hebrew texts. That is a mockery of the word preserve. If God preserves your soul the way you think He preserves His word - you're in trouble. And God esteems His word higher than your soul.

You say that scholars are going through mss. in an effort to recreate what the originals said. If you accomplished that, how would you know? You couldn't know - you have no originals to compare it with. I don't believe a pure scripture necessarily has to match the originals (Matthew and Luke don't match verbatim covering the same events), but I do believe it cannot conflict with something that is pure scripture (i.e. KJV) - and every modern version I've seen does conflict.

If God's word is scattered among all the mss. - if scholars were able to piece back together a perfect text - how would you know? Answer: you wouldn't. You'd change it again with the next scraps someone found buried in the Middle East. In fact you've already done that by rejecting the KJV as God's pure word.

If a lost soul asked you to show him the scripture, as defined in the (ahem!) scripture (given by inspiration of God - therefore perfect), you could not show it to him. You could only appeal to scholarship and tell him "We almost might have something pretty close."

Second post:

If we read the Bible we see there is ONE true God, ONE begotten Son, ONE true faith, ONE sacrifice for sins forever, ONE way of salvation, ONE Saviour, ONE Holy Ghost, ONE body, ONE hope, etc. etc.

Why would anyone with the spiritual discernment of a capuchin monkey think there wouldn't be ONE perfect Bible?
